Cable IP video vendor Evolution Digital has announced a user interface upgrade for its eVUE-TV platform.
Englewood, Colorado-based Evolution said in September that 23 small cable operators had deployed its advanced eVUE-TV video solutions, which include IP VOD, IP linear, pay-per-view and network DVR.
Subscribers to enabled video services will now have access to enhanced trick play, which will allow them to rewind and fast-forward at customized speeds, as well as see a still image of exactly where they are in the content as they speed through it.
The upgrade also includes improved content categorization, allowing operators to manage content into folders. For example, operators can put adult content into select password-lockable folders. Also, HD programming will automatically be surfaced over SD, to remove confusion and duplication.
Beyond customer interface upgrades, Evolution has also tweaked the system’s backend console, giving service providers the ability to generate robust reports on customer video usage.
“Our upgraded eVUE-TV back-office allows us to guide our operators in delivering a unique and unrivaled system for cable and telecommunications providers to easily manage their operations while minimizing CAPEX and simplifying the allocation of resources,” said Brent Smith, president and CTO of Evolution Digital, in a statement.
