• Evolution Digital’s eBOX IP Hybrid Set-Top Box recognized as top product available in the cable TV industry

CENTENNIAL, Colo., September 26, 2016 – Evolution Digital today announced that its eBOX IP Hybrid Set-Top Box received a 4.5 Diamond star rating out of a maximum 5 in Broadband Technology Report’s 2016 Diamond Technology Reviews.

The prestigious Broadband Technology Report Diamond Technology Reviews, now in its 12th year, are determined by third-party engineering executives from esteemed telecommunications companies including Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Charter and Cox Communications. Criteria of “the Diamonds” awards include innovation, efficiency, reliability, ease of use and profitability.

When making their assessment of eBOX’s 4.5 Diamond star rating, judges noted that “Evolution Digital is really becoming forward thinking in their approach with great products. Operators struggle to provide that missing OTT content on their platforms, as well as future-proof their set-top box investments…this box could grow with an operator as their video architecture evolves over time. [We] also see it as a possible retention tool.

“It is an extreme honor to receive 4.5 Diamonds for our esteemed eBOX IP Hybrid Set-Top Box considering the caliber of the judging panel,” said Chris Egan, CEO. “Broadband Technology Report’s Diamond rating confirms that we are pioneering a seamless and painless way for cable operators to transition to IP distribution. eBOX delivers the highest quality viewing experience by integrating traditional cable channels with OTT services, as well as universal search across all video and audio content

Evolution Digital’s eBOX IP Hybrid STB enhances operators’ offerings with a managed IP video experience. eBOX combines QAM-delivered traditional linear TV with IP delivered content, including IP Video on Demand services, OTT and TV Everywhere services. These features are all integrated through one user interface, on one box on the HDMI 1 TV input.

Said Rob Stuehrk, publisher at BTR, “Evolution Digital joins an elite group of companies earning a 4.5 score in this year’s Diamonds Program. As cable operators focus on core issues, like subscriber retention and quality of experience/service, solutions like eBOX allow them to provide subscribers with the services they demand now and the flexibility to evolve over time without additional capital expenditures.  BTR congratulates Evolution Digital on their high-scoring IP Hybrid STB.”

Broadband Technology Report is hosting a reception in Philadelphia on September 26, 2016 to honor “the Diamonds” recipients, as well as present this year’s awards. Evolution Digital will be in attendance.
