CENTENNIAL, Colo. – March 15, 2016 – As Evolution Digital continues to expand and grow its portfolio of IP video solutions for Tier 2 and Tier 3 cable operators, the company today announces that industry veterans Tom Poynton and David Burns have joined the team as regional directors of sales for the central and western regions of North America, respectively.

Poynton, a 23-year industry veteran, was a member of Evolution Broadband prior to its transition to Evolution Digital in 2010. When Evolution Broadband was sold to cable and satellite connector manufacturer PPC, Poynton transitioned to PPC and has since served as account manager and, later, director of national accounts where he led the Time Warner and Charter account teams. Prior to joining Evolution Broadband in 2004, Poynton held positions at Antec and Arris as territory manager, product specialist and regional account executive.

Burns previously served as senior director of North American sales at Elo Touch Solutions, a global leader in touchscreen solutions. Prior to Elo Touch Solutions, Burns was a director of sales at Motorola Mobility, where he focused on Channel sales and the Tier 2 and Tier 3 cable operators market. Prior to Motorola, Burns has held positions at General Instrument and Times Fiber Communications. Additionally, Burns served as an Aviation Officer in the United States Army.

“Tom and David are exceptional individuals whose leadership abilities, management skills and industry knowledge will greatly enhance Evolution Digital’s sales efforts,” said Marc Cohen, executive vice president of sales. “They are at the top of this field as two of the brightest and most innovative sales experts in the cable industry. We will be the beneficiary of Tom and Dave’s accomplishments.”
